The Yahoola Creek Reservoir Committee is seeking input from the community to help develop the Yahoola Creek Reservoir Master Plan. Individuals can participate in these planning efforts through an on-line public input survey that is available through June 19.
“The Board of Commissioners appointed the Yahoola Creek Reservoir Committee to identify future recreation and development ideas for the reservoir property,” said Lumpkin County Board of Commissioner Chairman Chris Dockery. “Gathering public input is a vital part of the planning process the Committee is undergoing, and I encourage residents and users to take this opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas.”
The purpose of the Yahoola Creek Reservoir Master Plan is to assist the Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners in planning for future development and improvements to recreation, greenspace, and trails within the reservoir property. To accomplish this goal, in addition to gathering public input, an analysis of existing recreational usage, facilities, programs, staffing, operations, and budgeting is being performed.
The survey takes between 8-10 minutes and was developed by Lose Design, a firm of landscape architects, planners, and engineers hired by Lumpkin County Government to write the master plan.
