In partnership with Lumpkin County School System, University of North Georgia, Lanier Technical College, and Northeast Georgia Health Systems, Lumpkin County provides the innovative talent to harness the growth of various sectors of life science including health information technology, research & development, and medical manufacturing. The region’s demographics provide the life sciences industry with a young workforce and a growth market of those needing healthcare services in the same region.
With the announcement of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) – Lumpkin campus to be opened in 2022, the healthcare sector of Lumpkin County is expected to grow. NGMC-Lumpkin will become the fourth campus of Northeast Georgia Health System. As this sector continues to grow, the Development Authority of Lumpkin County will facilitate collaboration among private companies, regional higher educational institutions, and service providers.
“I’ve driven and supported efforts to establish a new hospital in Lumpkin County and expand the University of North Georgia’s healthcare programs on the Dahlonega campus, in large part because of the role healthcare plays in today’s economics. We’ve all seen the growth and prosperity a new hospital and associated development can bring, and we look forward to working along NGHS to build a better future for Dahlonega-Lumpkin County and the region.”
