DALC Recognizes as Lumpkin County School System Partner in Education: December 2021
DAHLONEGA, Ga – This month’s Partner in Education award is being presented to the Development Authority of Lumpkin County represented this evening by their executive director, Rebecca Mincey, and the following board members: Chuck Jones, Henry Davis, John Gaston, Clarence Stowers, Jim Curtis, and Wyman Walden.
Our Partner in Education program here in Lumpkin County welcomes the involvement of all of our stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, parents, and community). A partnership is a mutually agreed upon arrangement where both the school and the business, individual or organization is intended to benefit our schools, our students, our faculty, staff and families.
Lumpkin County Schools was the recipient of the Georgia College and Career Academy grant earlier this month, and the Development Authority of Lumpkin County is to be commended for their past, present and future partnership with Lumpkin County Schools. With their collaboration over the past three years, our two organizations have successfully engaged our local workforce and industry partners in our plan to transform the typical high school experience in our community to one that prepares students for their next step in life after high school graduation. Whether that be continuing on to a four-year university, pursuing certifications and credentials through a technical college program, or entering the workforce with a high school diploma in hand, we are grateful for this strong partnership with Mrs. Mincey and her board of directors. Our WBL/YAP Coordinator, Mrs. Paula Cooper, works hand-in-hand with Rebecca on a weekly basis to continue placing our students in internships, apprenticeships, and jobs. Rebecca Mincey and Chuck Jones are both serving as board members for the Lumpkin County College & Career Academy.
Thank you, Development Authority of Lumpkin County, for your dedication to the Lumpkin County School District. We appreciate your partnership, and we look forward to working with you for many years to come.
