DAHLONEGA, Ga. – LUMPKIN COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

BROADBAND

The Development Authority of Lumpkin County and Lumpkin County Government were awarded $6.9 million in grant funding from the Georgia ARPA State Fiscal Recovery Fund & the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications & Information Administration for Broadband Infrastructure. The Development Authority of Lumpkin County and Lumpkin County Government coordinated with Kinetic by Windstream to submit these grant applications. The project will deploy a fiber to the premise solution to over 7,000 locations in Lumpkin County most lacking connectivity. The total project is a capital investment of approximately $20 million, of which $6.9 million is provided by the state and federal grants and $13.5 million by Kinetic by Windstream.


NORTHEAST GEORGIA MEDICAL CENTER

In June 2022, the Development Authority of Lumpkin County, Georgia, was proud to join members of the community for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin facility along 400. The facility will be constructed to expand with regional needs. The first phase will provide 16 patient rooms, inpatient telehealth specialty care, café & dining area, on-site lab and pharmacy, emergency services, and surgical services. The facility will be opening in 2024!
